Dr. Amir Putra Bin Md Saad

Niche Area : Porous Bone Scaffold, Biodegradable Material, Total Joint Replacement

Dr. Amir Putra Md Saad is currently a senior lecturer in Applied Mechanics and Design, School of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is by profession a mechanical engineer with a special interest in biomechanics, biodegradation and tribology. He is a specialized study employing experiments as well as a computational approach. He is mainly focused on the design and development of the porous structure for bone scaffold applications. He graduated Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Currently, He is the Head of the research group in the Engineering Design Research Group (EDRG) and a research fellow of the Medical Devices and Technology Centre (MEDiTEC), Institute of Human Centered Engineering (iHumEn).
