Holding an academic position of senior lecturer at School of Biomedical Engineering & Health Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Johor Bahru (UTM JB), Malaysia and a research position of deputy director at IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre, Institute of Human Centered Engineering, UTM JB. Conducting her research under Health & Wellness research alliance. Member of several professional bodies including Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3), Graduate Engineer in Malaysia Board of Engineer (BEM), American Chemical Society Malaysia section (ACS), IEEE Malaysia section, IEEE-EMBS Medicine & Biology Society, Institute of Materials Malaysia (IMM). Also a certified Human Resources and Development Fund (HRDF) trainer with a certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Higher Education Teaching and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Practice. Research interests are localised on biomaterials (membrane, hydrogel, implant coating and scaffold) with the specification on bioactive materials and antibacterial materials. The development and fabrication of biomaterials are intended for bone, cardiovascular and skin applications. In addressing the problem of infection, inorganic materials such as silver and organic materials such as chlorhexidine, honey and M. oleifera are incorporated into biomaterials. While in addressing cells & tissues impairment, hydroxyapatite, ginseng, honey, collagen, elastin, chitosan, everolimus and Factor 7 biomolecules are adopted. The project on chlorhexidine antibacterial coating has been awarded silver medal in PECIPTA 2019 and bronze medal in INATEX 2018. The high impact factor publications of this project also have gained great attention from YTY Sdn. Bhd., a medical glove company.
